Circuit Architect

Build circuits from AND, OR, NOT and XOR gates to match a truth table, from a NOT gate to a two-bit adder. 20 levels with hints and a live diagram.

Circuit Architect is a logic-gate puzzle game. Each level gives you a target truth table and a few gate slots. Choose a gate for each slot and where its inputs come from, then connect the outputs, until every row of the table matches.

There are 20 levels in four chapters: first gates, combining gates, deciding (comparators, a majority vote and a multiplexer) and adding (half and full adders up to a two-bit adder). Each chapter starts with a short explanation.

Tap any row of the truth table to light up the circuit for those inputs and see which wires are on. Stars compare your gate count with par; for most levels the game has checked that par is the fewest gates possible. Hints reveal a working circuit one gate at a time. Progress is saved in your browser.

Quick lesson: Logic gates and truth tables

Computers are built from logic gates that turn on/off signals (1 and 0) into new signals. A truth table lists every combination of inputs and the output you want for each one, so you can check a circuit row by row.
