Using the Skill Lab in class
The Street 05 Skill Lab is a free collection of short browser games and longer campaigns. Each game is tagged with the skills it asks players to practise, and most come with a one-minute lesson card and a check question.
Nothing to install: it runs in any modern browser on laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and phones. Pupils don’t need an account to play.
Getting started
- Pick an age group. At the top of the Skill Lab, choose Kids (6–12), Students (13–24) or Adults. Kids mode hides public leaderboards, keeps sessions short and leaves out games aimed at older players.
- Choose a shelf or a game. Shelves group games by skill (maths, words, critical thinking, memory and more). Each game card says what it practises and roughly how long a round takes.
- Use the learning cycle. Before a round there is a short lesson card; after it, a check question and a private reflection prompt. Difficulty can be set to Practice, Standard or Challenge.
- Optional: make a class (13+). Sign in and create a class to get a 6-character code. Students aged 13 or over join with the code and a display name. You see each member’s levels, rounds this week and concepts mastered, never their reflections, notes or raw scores.

Privacy and safety
- No tracking cookies and no adverts. Scores and progress are kept in the browser on that device.
- Under-13s get the Kids rules: no public leaderboards, and account features such as sync and classes are for 13+ only.
- We count anonymous game events (opened, started, finished) with no user or device identifier, and nothing is sent if the browser asks not to be tracked.
- Full details are in the privacy policy at street05.uk/legal/privacy.
What we don't claim
The games give pupils practice at specific tasks and a reason to talk about them. We make no claim that playing improves grades, attention or general ability, and the Skill Lab’s levels describe practice in the games, not school attainment.
