What it practises
- Memory & thinking speed: Holding patterns, sequences and positions in mind while the game moves on.
- Attention & focus: Picking out what matters, ignoring distractions and splitting attention between two things.
Practising a memory task makes you better at that task. We make no claim about memory in daily life.
Quick lesson: Remembering order
Remembering a sequence means keeping both the items and their order. Grouping them into a path or shape helps. Repeating backwards is harder because you must hold the whole list before you start.
Check question
Blocks light 2, 7, 5. What do you tap to repeat it backwards?
- 2, 7, 5
- 5, 7, 2
- 7, 5, 2
- 2, 5, 7
Answer: 5, 7, 2. Backwards starts with the last block: 5, then 7, then 2.
